For those of you that know me and my journey, you know that I used to be in the fashion business before changing careers to become an NLP Practitioner and a coach.
People often ask me, what made you change direction? Why such a drastic change?
To that, I say: “ I used to beautify and enhance the outer layers, now I clean and refine the inner layers!”
And I believe you can’t have one without the other…
You see,
We as a society spend so much time, energy, and money on the external stuff, hoping that by doing that, the inner self gets fixed! And we eventually find the happiness we are all searching for.
Well, it doesn’t…
You can meditate all day long, eat healthily, and hum positive affirmation until you are blue in the face. You can exercise 7 days a week and have the picture-perfect body, buy yourself expensive “things” and travel all over the world. You can have a lavish lifestyle and enjoy partying with your friends until the wee hours of the morning…
BUT
If you don’t take the time to do the inner work, none of the “things” you collected matter. The shiny stuff comes and go and eventually lose their excitement. Then, the un-healed wound creeps up on you.
The inner work can be painful, hurtful, and challenging in the beginning; it is hard to deal with what we don’t want to feel. So we mask our pain with shiny stuff wishing and hoping they would go away.
We are so afraid of feeling our FEELINGS that we subconsciously do everything possible to turn away from and avoid them.
The truth is, negative emotions, negative beliefs about self, painful past experiences, and our subconscious programs are like a snowball. If we don’t stop it, it will gain momentum and will grow bigger and bigger until it buries us.
To heal the “wound,” we need to stop living life from outside in, but rather from inside out.
Living life from outside in, puts you on the effect side of life (read my blog on being at cause), meaning you become a victim of circumstances and reactive to life situations.
Living life from inside out allows you to become the creator of your destiny and respond to challenges tactically and purposefully.
Now ask yourself this question!
Is it better to FEEL the pain and clear it once and for all
Or
Do you rather carry it every day, every minute, every second of your life for the rest of your life?
Think about that for a moment…
And if you are ready to clean up the INSIDE, I have a secret to share with you. You can’t make the shift by logically thinking and planning for it!
Because the logical mind or the conscious mind makes up only .006% of our mind and our reality.
The subconscious mind, however, makes up 99.994% of our mind. The subconscious mind is the key, everything we believe, everything we do, everything we feel, and what is really unfolding as our life, lies at the subconscious level.
To move past the hurt and the pain, the first thing we need to do is to recognize and identify ALL the negative beliefs we have about ourselves.
What are your I AM’s?
Second, we need to start loving ourselves more! And talk more compassionately to ourselves (click here to download my e-book about self-love)
The inner work or deep subconscious work needs a caring, skilled, and professional support, to lovingly and responsibly empower you to learn from the past and move forward with confidence.
Although the work is done at the subconscious level, the decision to once and for all release yourself from the pain and the hurt is a conscious choice.
