Our thoughts are responsible for ALL that happens and doesn’t happen in our life.
Our predominant thoughts influence our behaviors and attitudes; they control our actions and reactions.
Thoughts are powerful. They create our reality.
Our thoughts become real by how much attention we give them. Everything we perceive in the physical world had its origin in the invisible; our thoughts. They determine whether we live in peace or chaos; in joy or misery, in calm or stress. We can become masters of our destiny, create our reality, and manifest that which we desire by how much or how little we pay attention to our thoughts.
The easiest way to change your life is to change your thoughts.
The longer you hold on to a particular thought, the more power you give it. Concentrate on the positive thoughts, the ones that drive you forward, believes in you, and motivate you to take action. Let the thoughts that dominate your mind be full of promises, positivity, beauty, and align with your true essence. Allow your thoughts to inspire and motivate you to better and bigger things. Allow your thoughts to pave a path for opportunities. See yourself as worthy of all that is good.
Do not attend to the negative thoughts, don’t give them weight, do not identify with them or allow them to enter your reality. It is liberating to know we have absolute control over our thoughts. If we let a thought be nothing, then that’s what it will be…nothing! and it will literally cease to exist. The choice is ours, feed the good thoughts or feed the evil thoughts.
Remember, change happens one thought at a time.
This is easy…Concentrate on the good thoughts and I will have what I desire.
Right?
Sort of, kind of, but not quite.
Here is the problem; most of us spend much of our time thinking about what we don’t want. We are very good at listing to the things that we don’t want; but when it comes to knowing exactly what it is that we do want, we struggle.
A few weeks ago, I was attending an all-day workshop and was hesitant to wear my white jeans. As I pulled them out of the closet, I thought, should I? What if I spill something on them? White gets dirty very fast…Then, knowing what I know, I said to myself, Nah! I know how the mind works; I won’t spill anything on them.
Then it happened. Red ink splashed from my crotch all the way down.
YES, I am not making this up!
So why did it happen even though I was aware of my thoughts and immediately tried to reverse them?
Let’s give you another example; DO NOT THINK OF A BLUE TREE!
What just happened in your mind? I bet you saw a picture of a BLUE TREE.
You see, the subconscious mind does not process negatives.
To the subconscious mind this is what happens:
DO NOT think of a Blue tree= (DO NOT) THINK of a blue tree!
The subconscious mind is also symbolic.
The mind works in pictures, sounds, feelings, smells, and tastes. For the mind to understand the thoughts or the spoken words, it needs to create a picture, a sound or a feeling.
Talk to yourself (and others!) towards positivity, towards what you do want. In my above example with the white jeans, I needed to say, my pants are going to stay clean and spotless throughout the day, instead of hoping that I don’t spill something on them.
You get what you focus on, so focus on what you want.
So why is it that so many people lack what they want?
Here is why positive thinking alone, affirmations or vision boards don’t always work even though you are continuously giving out positive suggestions.
Affirmations are on the conscious level. In order for the law of attraction to work, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind have to be aligned. What that means is that the subconscious mind has to believe it to be true. You need to get rid of the limiting beliefs that you have told yourself repeatedly. If you believe on a subconscious level that you are not good enough or you are not worthy of X Y & Z, no matter how much positive affirmation you repeat on a daily basis, that which you want is not going to manifest.
The subconscious mind works pretty much like a rail road track. When the train is put on a track it goes to where it is programmed to go. It doesn’t have a steering wheel to change course. The only way you can get a train to change course is to switch it to a new track…so goes our mind.
Here’s how to use the power of your thoughts:
- Know what you want.
- Visualize achieving it. See it, hear it, and feel it as if it is already happening. Give it a lot of details, add more color, amplify the sounds, intensify the feeling. Make it live!
- Do this visualization often and with intention. Like anything else, you need practice and consistency to make your subconscious mind believe these mental images as real.
- Take ACTION- This is what most of us misunderstand. Positive thoughts, knowing what we want, meditation, affirmations, and desires are all good and necessary to shift the mind in the right direction; BUT, until we don’t take action, nothing will manifest!
Your thoughts are the gateway to your success; Action, is the vehicle to take you there!
Finally, become aware and pay attention to your thoughts. Do your best to reject the negative thoughts and replace them with positive, constructive thoughts. Focus on the thoughts that bring you joy, happiness, opportunities, and positive results.
To your happy thoughts,

Wow. Thank you mrs Sadigh. This was very informative and true. However, I did know that the conscious and subconscious mind should/ could be aligned.
I do struggle with the negative thoughts sometimes which mainly comes out of fear. I had a maltipoo and I got him when he was 6 weeks old ,I instantly fell in love with him, the more I got to know him, the more I loved him and had fear of losing him in an accident, and guess what happened!!! he was 9 months old, when he got into an accident and passed away right in front of my eyes. There are so many other examples in my life now that i think of it.
Wow, what you said was so true.
Dear Marmar, thank you so much for your comment. I am sorry about your dog. YES, thoughts are very powerful. Keep feeding your mind positive thoughts. Blessings to you.
This helps a lot:) I have a lot of anxious negative thoughts right now about myself, such as I convince myself I’m something that I’m not like a serious mental health issue, or even managing to make myself question my sexuality. I know the truth but keep getting these huge what ifs? Any suggestions?
Hi Tom,
I am glad you found the article helpful. Cultivating a positive mindset needs practice. Just like building muscles! My suggestion is to be aware of the negative thoughts, acknowledge them, yet, don’t allow them to define who you are. consciously, when the negative thoughts come, change them into something positive, as if you are changing your TV channel when you don’t like a program. Keep giving your subconscious the signal that the negative thoughts are not welcomed! with enough consistency, you will eventually overcome the negative thoughts. (There are more ways to deal with the negative thoughts, which needs a more in-depth understanding of the underlying root causes).
